Soul Crushing Job Searches - Gone Forever
Hey Pal
Rewiring Aviation Recruitment with Systems Thinking
In this week’s Bryan Air episode, I sat down with Mauritz Faber, corporate pilot and founder of Avixoo, to explore a digital solution that's reshaping aviation recruitment. In an industry known for inefficiencies in hiring, Avixoo stands out by connecting verified aviation professionals directly with job opportunities, automatically. Built by a pilot, for pilots, it’s a brilliant example of how systems thinking from the flight deck can be repurposed to solve real-world problems, save time, and extend your influence.
This conversation reminded me just how much latent value is locked inside aviation professionals. If you’ve ever felt like your experience was being overlooked, or that applying to job after job is a soul-crushing chore this episode is for you.
⚙️ SYSTEMS IN MOTION
Business Front: The E190 full-flight simulator installation is now in full swing at Simaero. I’ve been coordinating with our French engineering team, some of whom I’ve worked with since 2015. Watching the techs work their magic on these simulators is always a masterclass and I am always in awe of how accurate they are. Note: Do not let me loose with an electric drill.
Digital Assets: This week’s Bryan Air Podcast highlights the future of career platforms with Avixoo, a tool that uses automation to help pilots and crew find meaningful work without repetitive admin.
💡 TAKE ACTION
This Week's 15-Minute Implementation: Build Your Avixoo Profile
Go to. https://avixoo.com/
Create a free crew profile, focus on clarity and completeness
Upload your documents for identity and license verification (very important to complete your verification)
SUCCESS CHECK: Your verified profile appears in recruiter searches tailored to your qualifications. It’s your very own “interstellar echo”. Your digital version of yourself is on the job search while your’e doing whatever it is that you want to do.
Why this matters: You stop submitting the same paperwork on 10 platforms and let your digital co-pilot go to work, even while you’re flying or with family.
🔍 PERSONAL RADAR
Currently Absorbing: Beyond Order by Jordan Peterson (again). Whenever life feels heavy, Peterson helps me recalibrate and lean into responsibility with clarity. His quotes usually end up being highly valuable on the pod, especially when I don’t know what to say next.
Performance Notes: Jiu Jitsu is going strong. With consistency comes progress. Another stripe may be around the corner, maybe even that blue belt by year-end but no promises.
Family Highlight: Nicole and I had our first real night out since becoming parents, Greek singers at Emperors Palace, 4AM roulette wins, and far too much Black Label. A good night was had by all.
Worth Sharing: Loom is one of Mauritz’s favorite tools. Quick, clear, visual messaging, perfect for team communication and client updates. No unnecessary downloads, just send the link for people to watch your private video production.
💬 CLOSING THOUGHTS
Aviation teaches us that systems run the show, but human intuition, preparation, and judgment make it all work. Tools like Avixoo don’t replace the human; they amplify the human. That’s the mindset I want to carry across every area, from the simulator bay to my podcast to raising my kids. Your time and expertise are finite. Systems are how we make them infinite.
